Authorization To Return
Authorization to Return to Canada (ARC)
An Authorization to Return to Canada (ARC) is a document that allows individuals who have been removed or deported from Canada to return to the country on a temporary basis. This document is issued by the Canadian immigration authorities and is required for individuals who have been removed from Canada or are inadmissible to the country.
Types of Removal Orders
- There are two types of removal orders in Canada - Deportation Order and Exclusion Order.
- A Deportation Order is issued when an individual is found to be inadmissible to Canada due to security, criminal, or human rights violations. The individual must leave Canada immediately and may be barred from returning for a certain period of time.
- An Exclusion Order is issued when an individual is found to be inadmissible to Canada due to health or financial reasons. The individual must leave Canada within 30 days of being issued the order.
How to Obtain an ARC
Individuals who have been removed from Canada or are inadmissible to the country can apply for an ARC by submitting a written request to the Canadian immigration authorities. The application must be supported by evidence and a detailed explanation of the reasons why the individual should be allowed to return to Canada. The decision to grant an ARC is made on a case-by-case basis and depends on the specific circumstances of each case.
