The Express Entry system
The Express Entry system is a way for Canada to actively recruit and select skilled immigrants for its various economic programs. Within the Express Entry system, there are four main programs:
- Federal Skilled Worker (FSW) program: This program is for individuals with work experience in a skilled occupation and a certain level of language proficiency.
- Canadian Experience Class (CEC) program: This program is for individuals who have already gained work experience and language proficiency in Canada.
- Federal Skilled Trades Class (FSTC) program: This program is for individuals with qualifications and experience in a skilled trade.
- Provincial Nominee Programs (PNP): This program allows provinces and territories to nominate individuals who meet their specific economic needs.
To be eligible for Express Entry
An individuals must meet the criteria for at least one of the above programs and have a valid language test score. The Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) is used to rank eligible candidates and invite them to apply for permanent residence in Canada.
