Ontario Immigration Nominee Program (OINP)
Ontario, one of the most populous provinces in Canada, has its own immigration nominee program – the Ontario Immigration Nominee Program (OINP). This program is designed to attract skilled and experienced foreign workers, international students and entrepreneurs to the province, with the aim of contributing to its economic growth and development.
Eligibility Criteria:
To be eligible for the OINP, candidates must meet the criteria of one of the following streams:
- Human Capital Priorities Stream
- French-Speaking Skilled Worker Stream
- Skilled Trades Stream
- Business Stream
Each stream has its own eligibility criteria and requirements, which include factors such as age, education, work experience, language proficiency, and financial stability.
Receiving Nomination from MCIIT:
To receive nomination from the Ministry of Citizenship, Immigration and International Trade (MCIIT), candidates must first meet the eligibility criteria for one of the OINP streams. Once nominated, candidates can apply for permanent residency in Canada through Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).
Nomination Process:
The nomination process for the OINP involves the following steps:
- Review the eligibility criteria for each stream and determine which one is the best fit for your profile.
- Submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) through the OINP e-Filing Portal.
- If your EOI is selected, you will receive a Notification of Interest (NOI) from the MCIIT.
- After receiving the NOI, you will need to submit a complete application to the OINP.
- The MCIIT will review your application and make a decision on your nomination.
