PGWP

Post Graduation Work Permit

The Post Graduation Work Permit (PGWP) allows international students who have completed their studies at a designated learning institution (DLI) in Canada to gain Canadian work experience. This program is designed to help international students transition to permanent residency in Canada, and provides them with the opportunity to apply the skills and knowledge they acquired during their studies to the Canadian workforce.

To be eligible for a PGWP, international students must:

It is important to note that the length of the PGWP will depend on the length of the student’s program of study. For programs of study that are 8 months to less than 2 years in duration, the PGWP will be valid for the same length as the program of study. For programs of study that are 2 years or longer, the PGWP will be valid for up to 3 years.

In conclusion, the PGWP is a great opportunity for international students to gain Canadian work experience and potentially transition to permanent residency in Canada. If you are an international student who has completed your studies at a DLI in Canada and meet the eligibility criteria, you may be eligible for a PGWP.
